In today's fast-paced world, we don't have time to be ill and aromatherapy could be the answer. Here are some essential oils that can contribute to the strengthening of your immune system.

Eucalyptus Blue Gum - It is perfect for killing horrible odours and bacteria. Eucalyptus is excellent when mixed with a bit of water and used as a spray; it's fantastic at cleansing the air. Eucalyptus is highly effective for treating respiratory problems, such as asthma, bronchitis, pneumonia, and even tuberculosis. Using eucalyptus for asthma is a proven treatment that dilates the blood vessels and allows more oxygen into the lungs.

Peppermint Arvensis -  Simply brilliant. It boasts a high concentration of vitamins C and A, which can help treat a variety of disorders. Peppermint oil improves the functioning of the immune system. It's antioxidants, like vitamin C, prevent the generation of free radicals. The oil also is known to help relieve symptoms such as a sore throat, stomach illnesses, and severe bronchitis. Peppermint can improve the functionality of the lungs with its high amount of Vitamin C!

Oregano - This oil has been instrumental for more than 2,500 years, a true legend in the oil community. The properties of this oil are antibacterial, anti-fungal, antiviral, anti-parasite and antioxidant – making it effective against many environmental threats and harmful microbes. It's great for supporting the immune system and can ease the discomforts from a sore throat; it's the perfect cleanser.

Methods of using essential oils.

Massage - Promotes relaxation and stimulates the lymphatic system, removing toxins and impurities from the body. The human body is a bunch of complex systems, in which the mind, body and emotions are all connected. Massage promotes happiness, relieves pain and boosts the immune system too. Please remember to dilute your essential oil with a carrier oil before use.

Bath - An excellent way to relax and get the benefits of immune-boosting essential oils. For a standard bathtub, I'd recommend 10 to 15 drops of essential oil. But you don't just want to drop the essential oils straight into the water. Drop the essential oils underneath the running tap, so the essential oils disperse evenly into the bath.

Inhalation - This is simple, add some essential oils to a diffuser and turn it on while you're going about your day. You could even add one to two drops to the palm of one hand. Rub your palms together to warm up the oil, then cup your hands over your nose and inhale deeply several times. Some people may be sensitive to the essentials oils so only try this if you're feeling brave.

The lymph system is an important part of the immune system. It includes lymph nodes, ducts, and vessels that carry lymph to remove waste from tissues. Immune cells, specifically white blood cells, clean the fluid with the assistance of the spleen and thymus gland.
