Chinese Elements Oil Blends Gift Pack

The early Chinese philosophers looked to the natural world to discover a way of describing how we are alike, yet unique. They learned that we could split anything in the world into five energy types, which they called the Five Phases.

The Five Phases - Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water. They are believed to be the fundamental roots of the universe and hold the key to all interactions.

Each Chinese element has individual characteristics, and each plays a unique role within the universe. Each element has its personal defined strengths and weaknesses, with one not being stronger than another. All things originate from and return to the universe and are composed of these elements. Therefore, understanding our connection to them is crucial.

1/ Earth Element

The Earth Element embodies the late summer. We regard this season as the harvest season. The Earth sustains and provides for us, which is why we refer to it as the Mother. This nurture relates to physical, mental and spiritual nourishment we receive. The power of the Earth lies deeper in its ability to instil a sense of peace within ourselves. It is the mother element that gives us a sense of belonging and finally allow one to feel at home.

Earth types must learn to develop clear boundaries and take care of themselves. The challenge is to honour their sensitive nature and show great compassion to others. A powerful earth element helps to digest and accept fate and expand one's circle of knowledge.

Contains:  Clary Sage (Salvia Sclarea), Ginger (Zingiber Officinalis), Grapefruit (Citrus Paradisi),  Lavender (Lavandula Officinalis), Marjoram (Origanum Marjorana) and Patchouli (Pogostemon Cablin).

2/ Fire Element

The Fire Element symbolises the season of summer. It is in this season that nature is in full bloom and its most complete expansion. Fire signifies the power of maturity and is an energy that expresses through joy and love. It is the fire element that allows us to unite with others, open our hearts and build appropriate boundaries in relationships.

A fire type succeeds in life by becoming warm-hearted and charitable. Experiences of compassion, fun and pleasure are therapeutic for fire individuals. The main challenge for a fire type is to give joy and laughter without thought of reward.

Contains:  Bergamot (Citrus Bergamia Melarosa), Cinnamon Leaf (Cinnamomum Zeylancium), Mandarin (Citrus Nobilis), Ho Wood (Cinnamomum Camphora Linalooliferum), Rose Geranium (Pelagonium Roseum) and Ylang Ylang (Cananga Odorata). 

3/ Metal Element

The Metal Element represents the season of fall. One of the main characteristics of metal is, therefore, the beauty of letting go. All the leaves must fall for fresh ones to grow forth in the spring. That coincides with many of our own life experiences. For growth and new skills to be able to spring forth, we must sometimes be mentally prepared to let go. That could be a relationship, job or even your home.

The metal personality is very determined and powerful. Metal types succeed by being less unreasonable, accepting change, and gracefully freeing themselves of the past. It is durable and hard but will conform and change when put under pressure. The challenge for a metal type is to learn how to communicate grief and find that inner healing.

4/ Water Element

The Water Element embodies the season of winter in which there are collecting and replenishing of reserves. It is in the winter that one is meant to relax, rest, and build strength. The water element connects to the notion of power, cleansing and versatility, for it is water that ultimately allows everything to move in the body.

Water represents intellect and wisdom. It is flexible yet strong, flowing yet still, calm yet dangerous. For water, the surface is only the origin, with the real movement concealed in its depths. Those with the Water element are not reclusive; however, they enjoy their own company and crave time for inner reflection. They are often quiet and serene but have a high capacity to overwhelm others.

Contains: Neroli (Citrus Aurantium), Frankincense (Boswellia Serrata), Ho Wood (Cinnamomum Camphora Linalooliferum), Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus Globulus),  Juniperberry (Juniperus Communis ) and Lemon (Citrus Limonum).

5/ Wood Element 

The Wood Element expresses the season of spring, new starts, growth and opportunities. The primary qualities associated with this element are hope, vision, maturity and exuberance. It is in the springtime that everything jumps back to life. After the chill of the bleak winter months, life begins anew. It is the quickest energetically moving of the elements upward and out like a tree.

They have a powerful sense of purpose but can become driven and stressed when out of balance. That means Wood Types can become irritable, frustrated and impatient. Wood types possess excellent decision-making skills and the ability to create change. The big challenge for a wood type is attempting to control their anger and channel it into positive work that profits all people.

Contains: Basil (Ocimum Basilicum), Cedarwood (Cedrus Atlantica), Grapefruit (Citrus Paradisi), Petitgrain (Citrus Aurantium Var), Rose Geranium (Pelagonium Roseum) and Rosemary (Rosmarinus Officinalis). 

How to use:

Add 5-7 drops (0.3 ml) to water in a vaporiser or burner. 

Add 10 drops (0.5 ml) to 15-25 ml of carrier oil for use in massage. 

Add 6-15 drops (0.1 ml) per 30g of selected Skincare Base before application. 

Add 2 - 12 drops into your bath. 

Never use pure oils on the skin without diluting, never use internally, keep away from children and eyes, always check if there are any medical issues which could cause a problem. Seek help if you have any doubts.
