Citroengras Cochinolie is een lid van de Poaceae-familie. Deze olie heeft een frisse, grasachtige citrusgeur, met een aardse ondertoon en wordt geclassificeerd als een topnoot. Citroengras mengt goed met kamferachtige, citrus-, kruidige, bloemige, muntachtige, kruidige en houtachtige oliën.

Citroengras bevat pijnstillende, antidepressieve, antimicrobiële en antiseptische eigenschappen. Het is een welkome aanvulling in de huidverzorging, een fantastisch insectenwerend middel en zeer gunstig voor de spijsvertering, het immuunsysteem en het zenuwstelsel.

Etherische oliën kunnen plaatselijk worden aangebracht zodra ze zijn verdund met een dragerolie. Ze worden veel gebruikt in cosmetische goederen en handgemaakte ambachten.
